Brief Background: Reel Smoovv, a Southside Minneapolis native has been making music for about eight years. His main musical influence is Bob Marley and thrives on trying to emphasize and encourage social change within the culture. Over-all, positivity.
What is your process of making music: I like practicing isolation and being by myself when creating. As far as the actual process, I like to freestyle and play beats. Most of the time the beat leads the way for moods and topics included on a track.
You just released 31st K. Nights, What does it stand for? 31st & 5th Ave is the location of which everything started. It’s paying homage to my humble beginnings. The K.nights part is referring to group/crew, viewing ourselves as royalty. The album 31st K.Nights is about exploration of a period of time in my life. It helps re-evaluate and process my past. This album also helped me hop into a a different creative avenue using darker beats and a more conscious rap approach. Over all this album is about reflection and growth.
Watch ‘The Era’
Do you have any previous projects/ upcoming projects?: I’ve got four previous albums: Reel Revolution, Reel Smoovv Summer Jams, and 31st Groovvs.
What are some future endeavors: I plan on releasing a project that will be treated as an audio series of weekly or biweekly releases, they will later be compiled into one album. This kind of draws in the audience to anticipate the next drop.
What are your goals for your music?: My main goal for my music is for people to enjoy it and to process and cherish it.

What type of message are you sending out to the public? The main element I want my audience to take away from my music is to get the courage to find themselves and to love themselves, flaws and all..
